3D Rendering and Printing

Some designs start with a sketch on a napkin,  others with a detailed line drawing.  In either case, we create a CAD (Computer Aided Design)  rendering on a computer that specifies the design in terms of shape, geometry, dimensions, and color.

From the CAD drawing, we then create a virtual 3D model, which is easy to revise and perfect according to your requirements on-screen.  3D Rendering 2

Even if you don’t have a design blueprint, we can scan a finished product or a component that already exists using an Arctec 3D scanner to produce a virtual model in minutes.

Once you approve the 3D virtual model, we’ll output it to scale (large or small) in an assortment of colors employing a 3D printer best suited for your specific needs. You can also use the 3D virtual model for marketing and promotions purposes, such as brochures and catalogs, well in advance of your production run. The final prototype is portable, lightweight and the turnaround is quick, from 1 to 3 days.

Materials Available for 3D Printing

You can produce a prototype in a variety of materials, including resin, polymer, wax and PVC. Each material offers its unique advantages – Resin, for example, is durable, inexpensive, resistant to heat and mild chemicals, and can be sanded for a smooth finish. Resin can also be drilled, painted, plated or vacuum metalized. Wax, on the other hand, is organic and water-soluble, and therefore is a safer choice for creating molds for food-based products.

Our partners uses a combination of powerful 3D rendering tools, including the AutoDesk Suite, 3D Studio Max, Solid works, and Maya. They also have access to cutting edge 3D printing technology – Fused Deposition Modeling (FDM), Selective Laser Sintering (SLS) and 3D Inkjets.
